Hello and welcome to Daily Commander!
Today we are going to be talking about Jetmir, Nexus of Revels!

Jetmir is a four mana 5/4 that gives creatures +1/+0 and vigilance if we control three or more creatures, another +1/+0 and trample if we control six or more creatures, and another +1/+0 and double strike if we control nine or more creatures.
It was an inevitability since I have been doing a Daily Commander that we would reach my birthday! In order to celebrate, I decided to talk about one of my personal favorite Commanders in Jetmir.
Jetmir embodies the play style I love playing, and that is go wide aggro with a ton of benefits for having a ton of creatures and a way to potentially win the game via an aggro strategy.
Since it is my birthday, I think for a special treat in making an actual deck profile to show and have a high budget limit! Remember, proxies are always welcome here.

The first thing that we need to do is have ways to generate a lot of creature tokens.
Hero of Bladehold is ideally the kind of creature that we are looking for because it makes two Soldier tokens that are tapped and attacking, which helps get a good number of bodies to get Jetmir active, but also has battle cry to give the current number of creatures we control an extra boost.
Leonin Warleader fills a similar spot, but has the benefit of the attacking Cat tokens lifelink, which can give us a pretty solid swing of life. This is important because we are also going to have an Ocelot Pride, which if we gained life this turn then we make a 1/1 Cat and if we have Ascended, then we make additional tokens for each token that entered the battlefield this turn.
Krenko, Tin Street Kingpin and Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon are also going to be our heavy token makers because whenever Krenko attacks he gets a +1/+1 counter and we get a number of Goblin tokens equal to his power, and Anim Pakal triggers whenever we attack with a non-Gnome she gets a +1/+1 counter and we make a number of tapped and attacking Gnome creature token equal to the number of +1/+1 counters she has.
Jacked Rabbit has ravenous and whenever it attacks it makes a number of 1/1 Rabbit tokens equal to its power, Arasta of the Endless Web makes a 1/2 Spider whenever an opponent casts an instant or sorcery spell, and Charismatic Conqueror gives our opponents to have their creature or artifacts to enter tapped or we make a 1/1 Vampire with lifelink if they don’t.

The next thing we need are the other ways we can get to get even more tokens in play to further gain an advantage.
Doubling Season is the perfect card for this because not only does it double the number of tokens we make, but for creatures like Krenko and Anim Pakal which give themselves counters to make a number of tokens then Doubling Season doubles those as well.
Anointed Procession and Parallel Lives are additional ways to get double the number of tokens onto the battlefield. Mondrak, Glory Dominus is a token doubler that has the potential to become indestructible to survive board wipes.
Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation is the biggest way to generate a ton of tokens because it makes triple the number of tokens, and if it dies it instead becomes a land that can come back as Ojer Taq for three mana and tapping it only if we attacked with three or more creatures this turn.
We should also have a couple of noncreature ways to make creature tokens like a pet card of mine Rabble Rousing, which is a Hideaway enchantment that makes a number of 1/1 Citizen tokens equal to the number of attacking creatures, then if we control ten or more creatures we can cast the spell from Hideaway.
March of the World Ooze is a new card that I immediately fell in love with because not only does it give all of our creatures base power and toughness 6/6 and makes them Oozes, but it also makes a 3/3 Elephant token if an opponent casts a spell on a different players turn, meaning more bodies for us to use.

While our primary win condition is going to be an all out aggro strategy, we should also consider alternate win strategies or ways to go over the top to guarantee a win.
Purphoros, God of the Forge works perfectly for a tokens deck because whenever a creature we control enters we deal 2 damage to each opponent, which if we manage to stick our token doublers on the battlefield we can potentially burn out our opponents with just tokens entering the battlefield.
Similarly, there is Witty Roastmaster which only deals 1 damage to each opponent whenever a creature enters the battlefield under our control, but having additional sources of damage is extremely helpful, especially if we can stick one into play early.
As far as ways we can guarantee a ton of power in play there is Dollmaker’s Shop to make a Toy token whenever we attack with a non-Toy creature, but the better part is the other half Porcelain Gallery which gives our creatures a base power and toughness equal to the number of creatures we control. We can also go with the tried and true tactic of Craterhoof Behemoth for a massive one turn boost to get the power we need.
We also need to consider protection, so something like Heroic Intervention is the ideal way to protect ourselves from a board wipe, Naya Charm is a modal way to deal damage, bring something back to our hand, or tap all creatures an opponent controls, and Pest Infestation to get rid of problematic artifacts and enchantments while also putting bodies on the board.
If we want our own board wipe, then there is Winds of Abandon, which for two mana can exile a creature we don’t control to give an opponent a tapped basic land, but can be Overloaded to exile all creatures we don’t control to give our opponent a ton of basic land, which can end up giving only a couple of basic lands depending on how greedy their mana base is.
Jetmir is a fairly straightforward value Commander that can potentially guarantee a quick win if the cards fall in your favor. As a Commander, Jetmir doesn’t leave a lot of wiggle room in what you want to do, but he is really good at what he does.
Like I said, as my gift to you all for my birthday, here is a deck list that has a few extra surprises that I didn’t talk about that help get the deck going! I’m thinking about occasionally releasing a deck list, but I can’t feasibly do it for every Commander so let me know if that is something you would like me to do and when I should do them.
Thank you for reading, see you tomorrow for the next Daily Commander!
Peace,
From, J.M. Casual
