Hello and welcome to Daily Commander!
Today we are going to be talking about General Ferrous Rokiric!

General Ferrous Rokiric is a three mana 3/1 that has hexproof from monocolored and when you cast a multicolored spell you create a 4/4 red and white Golem creature token.
General Ferrous is a neat Commander because he wants you to play multicolored spells for a go wide deck, and many of red and white’s best cards for a go wide strategy tend to be monocolored.
The hexproof is nice because it forces our opponents to use more expensive removal rather than monocolored removal, which means we can focus more on making sure that we can get a vast army of Golems onto the battlefield.

The first thing that we need to do is find multicolored spells that are cheap to cast, and there are a few that we can include in our creature suite that fit that bill.
Figure of Destiny is great to have in the early game to act as a mana sink and if you have nothing else to play, or if you decide to play it in the late game then you have a one mana multicolored spell to play to trigger General Ferrous.
There is also Boros Recruit and Duergar Assailant to have some early one mana blockers or late game cheap creatures to trigger General Ferrous.
Most of the other creatures that we’ll use are two to three mana, but there are plenty of options to choose from, like Ash, Party Crasher. Ash also can start stacking Celebration triggers as the game goes on, becoming a bigger and bigger threat.
As far as more utility creatures are concerned, there is also Boros Guildmage, which can give a creature haste and/or first strike as we need it, Honored Crop-Captain to give pseudo-battle cry, and Boros Reckoner to make blocks and burn spells much more awkward.

Red and white, while having solid monocolored removal spells on their own, also have a solid suite of removal and utility spells in both colors that we definitely can use to our advantage.
Lightning Helix is an example of a solid card to have that we can use to get rid of a problematic creature while getting life and if we have General Ferrous out we get an additional big body to block.
Deflecting Palm helps us if an opponent has a massive source of damage coming our way, whether that be a creature or burn spell, and redirect it to that source’s controller, which could end up being a blow out.
Rip Apart is a solid modal spell for pure damage or artifact/enchantment removal, Deafening Clarion to act as a board wipe or help you stabilize in life total, Moonhold as a control piece, and Legion Leadership to get a big thing through or act as a land.

General Ferrous is leading an army of Golems, meaning that we are going for a go wide aggro strategy to win, with a multicolor bent to it.
Blade Historian is going to be the upper end of our mana curve, and it is going to help us close out games because they give double strike to attacking creatures.
If we want anthem effects, then we have access to Warleader’s Call, which not only is an anthem for our creatures, but whenever a creature enters the battlefield, we deal an additional point of damage to an opponent.
If we really need to close out the game and don’t mind a last minute gambit, then we have access to the extra turn spell in Chance for Glory, which sure acts as a way to potentially win the game, but also lose us the game.
General Ferrous is a straightforward build, but not necessarily a bad one. Being simple to build isn’t an issue, and this deck can actually be made affordably. This is a solid deck for new players and experienced players alike, and can be tuned in a variety of way to make even more effective.
Thank you for reading, see you tomorrow for the next Daily Commander!
Peace,
From, J.M. Casual
