Hello and welcome to Daily Commander!
Today we are going to be talking about The Reality Chip!

The Reality Chip is a two mana 0/4 that let’s you look at the top card of your library and as long as The Reality Chip is attached to a creature then you can play lands and cast spells from the top of your library and a Reconfigure of two and a blue.
The power that the Reality Chip has is that it doesn’t win on its own, but it effectively gives you an extra card to look at that becomes an extra card in hand when it’s equipped to a creature.
This means that the best way to build the deck is to be able to manipulate the top of our library and to be able to cast the spells consistently.

The first thing we need to look at is ways to manipulate the top of our library.
Brainstorm is one of the cheaper ways to get this done, and it does allow us some form of protection to hand attack, and allows us to better filter any shaky starting hands because of it being only one mana to cast.
Anything that has scry or surveil is a consideration for obvious reasons, so things like Consider, Opt, and Fading Hope are also cheap ways to filter the top of our library, with Fading Hope also doubling as a removal spell.
Index is slow being a sorcery, but it does allow us to look at the top five cards and rearrange them as we like. Ponder is also a solid choice as a sorcery because looking at the top three cards is fine for three, but having the option to shuffle the deck if we have three unneeded cards at the top is a massive boon.

The next thing to look at is the creatures that we are planning to equip The Reality Chip to, because to get the effects of casting from the top of our library, then we need to equip The Reality Chip as quickly as possible and onto a creature that has some form of protection.
Sleep-Cursed Faerie is an example of the sort of creature we want, cheap and has protection. It doesn’t matter if it enters tapped, we aren’t planning to immediately attack and it makes attaching The Reality Chip early on more effective.
Kitesail Larcenist is also a decent choice because it also acts as a form of removal by turning an artifact or creature an opponent controls into a Treasure token as long as it’s on the field.
Aboleth Spawn works really well if want to play on the defensive and copy an enters the battlefield triggered ability of a creature our opponents cast to use to our advantage and attach The Reality Chip when it gets back to your turn.
If want bodies on the field then we can also use Saruman the White to take advantage of casting multiple spells a turn and Amassing Orcs.

What we need for a very effective and difficult to interact with deck is to have ways to cast cards as though they had flash.
Leyline of Anticipation is ideal to have because we can get it onto the battlefield if we have it in our opening hand to start being proactive on our opponents turns to make the most use of our mana.
This means that if we have access to a blocker at the top of our library, like say Sailor’s Bane which gets cheaper to cast for each card we have in exile and instant, sorcery, or card with Adventure, then we can cast it to be a surprise blocker.
If we want more of a control aspect then we can use Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir to give our creatures flash and spells our opponents control to be cast as a sorcery.
If we need a way to reduce the costs of instants and sorceries while giving sorceries the ability to be cast at instant speed, then Wizards of Thay is also an option.
The Reality Chip is a toolbox sort of Commander where we can use it for a variety of strategies depending on our local meta. It lends itself better for a midrange to control sort of strategy, and there is a veritable cavalcade of options to look at when looking at what to add to the deck.
Thank you for reading, see you tomorrow on the next Daily Commander!
